Help Your Neighbor

Take Action:  Volunteer

How can you help Meals On Wheels of Rhode Island programs provide the next meal?

Take the Pledge to Help Our Seniors

According to the Poverty Institute just under 10,000 Rhode Island seniors, nearly 10% of the state’s population, live in poverty. Many of those seniors look to Meals on Wheels everyday to ensure they have one meal to look forward to. Our goal is to match that number – with 10 thousand people who are willing to stand up and pledge to do what it takes to help our seniors. Will you take the Pledge?

Volunteers are the backbone of Meals On Wheels Rhode Island. Not only do they prepare and deliver meals to homebound seniors throughout Rhode Island, they provide the seniors they serve with companionship and a warm, friendly smile when they arrive at the door.

There are a lot of volunteer opportunities at  Meals On Wheels of Rhode Island, though specific openings will vary. People with all schedules, interests and abilities can help – whether you want to be hands-on or behind the scenes, and whether you can volunteer during weekdays or only on evenings and weekends. Call us and we would be happy to find a way you can help (401)351-6700.
